HRC clearances are looser. IN = 0.15-0.20 EX = 0.25-0.30

Odd. My translated HRC manual says IN "0.15/0.02" (I assume the 0.02 is saying 0.13-0.17) and the EX as "0.20/0.002".

Thanks,

Hey Magg, the Precision Shims Melbourne thing is a good tip. They sell 7.50mm shims, but I am guessing that is good enough replacement for 7.48mm (?).

Thanks again.

Think Haydn is quoting NC35 HRC manual specs, albeit wrongly. The NC35 HRC manual has clearances as In 0.20 Ex 0.30

Dont think the SS/SP HRC manual for the NC30 quotes clearances.

Invoice had them as 7.50mm diameter but they seem to work ok in my engine. You could call them to check, cannot remember if I did or not. Also my untranslated copy of the HRC '90 VFR400 F3 TT Kit manual says IN: 0.15+/-0.02 and EX: 0.20+/-0.02

Yamaka thenks for confirming my earlier comments, only F3 TT kit manual lists non std cam and non standard clearances.

Thanks magg. I contacted Precision Shims. They charge $5 a shim and Honda is $6. So I went for Honda ones.

No problem, prices must have changed or Honda dealers in Sydney are bigger robbers.
