NC30 oil in airbox
I always find a few ccms of oil pooled in my airbox and the filter's metal mesh is oily too. I think one of the previous owners messed with the breather cover because the bolt heads show some abuse. Can it be that the breather cover gasket is not installed properly or torn inside and that lets a lot of oil mist go up the breather?

you are supposed to get some oil up the breather - not loads though, but you can expect a bit.

With the airbox off and the bike on the sidestand oil is pooled around the edge of the undertray. Can it come from the valve stems alternatively?CMSMJ1 wrote:you are supposed to get some oil up the breather - not loads though, but you can expect a bit.

Is this the same bike that you said is down on power and speculated that the compression is low or its burning oil or something?krisztian_andre wrote:With the airbox off and the bike on the sidestand oil is pooled around the edge of the undertray. If so it sounds like the engine is neglected to fuck and its worn out, hence the oil in the airbox.
I took my airbox off last week when i was adjusting the wiring loom, first time since I replaced the airfilter 4000km / 12 months ago. No oil in the airbox and the bike gets ridden hard.
