NC30 HRC Carbs misting oil
Hmmmmmmm
Was at Cadwell this weekend and took the tank off to show someone the HRC open carbs etc.
There was a very fine layer of oil on the carb top tray and the mesh that I have over them. Should i be worried, I did ping the limiter an odd time but no more than I have done at other meets/trackdays and its never misted oil over the carbs before!
Now I had topped the oil up so is this just it spewing out a little excess, the breather is rigged to a catch tank with hose so it hasnt come from there, I will double check it hasn't got a split in it allowing for oil to spray over the carbs etc.
Like I say it was a very fine covering of the carb tray, there was none had reached the underside of the tank.
Should I be worried? its the end of the season for me now so if its needs a refresh its not the end of the world.
Thoughts please

I imagine it will be petrol vapour residue, those hrc carbs have a lot of petrol going into them. You can see it sometimes when you rev the engine without the tank on.
I wouldn't be too concerned.

It's a good thing! The sticky stuff catches the dirt that otherwise would get sucked into the intakes!
