Have I killed my nc30?
Hello,
Recently had a crash (lowside) on my bike and repaired it (bent handlebars etc, not too bad) and have been riding it since. I checked the oil level after the incident and it was fine.
2 weeks later I was riding quite fast for about an hour and suddenly started losing all power..
Bike would rev fine in neutral but something sounded different about it - slight rattle :S maybe me being paranoid?
Then would pull okay in first gear (not as fast as before but would rev to 14k etc)
2nd gear onwards will not rev as high as before. In 6th it Max's out at 8-9k revs. It really struggles now and just has no power.
I've checked fuel and air intake and changed oil/filter. Any ideas?
Thanks

Sounds like it could be fuelling, check vacuum hoses.

Aye that sounds like fuelling problems to me, had exactly the same problem when my vaccume hose was shot. Get a set of fuel hoses from Rick O and go from there.

You could of knocked somthing loose in the fall that has now fallen off.
Maybe stirred up some shit that's now got into the carbs?

Re: Have I killed my nc30?
I don't think this is your issue, but years ago, after I low-sided my VFR750 on oil on a roundabout, my bike started displaying reg/rec failure symptoms, so I just parked it, totally gutted that I would have to diagnose and repair the bike's charging system (as well as its bodywork). Some years later, I pulled off the mangled RHS fairing and was surprised to find that the impact of hitting the deck had unplugged the stator connector...

Thanks for the replies but I'm definitely convinced the engine is dead now...
It's really really easy to start up now ? What does this mean?
And it sounds so different, not crisp anymore

Re: Have I killed my nc30?
Could the switch for the speedo be unplugged and the bike is going into 'limp mode' where two cylinders are firing ?
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....
