Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
So over the last few days i have fitted the bodywork, which was a shame putting taty panels over the relatively nice workings of the bike. Got it MOT'ed today which i passed apart from one advisory on the front tyre which is being replaced when i have scrubbed the rear in.
Few little odds and sods to do, have ordered a few bits to go on but im moving house (again!) in a few weeks so i cant do anything major to it.
Also had a small issue with low rpm running which i made a thread about in the v fours workshop section, hopefully will be able to sort that out and just enjoy riding it for a while after all the hard work! Doesnt look very good at all with the fairings on but that doesnt worry me too much.
Thanks for all of the support and help over the build so far guys, will write a spec list out sometime but there are still a few things to be upgraded, and will add a list of all you guys who have helped me out so far!

Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
So a small update, did the trackday at cadwell park and it was bloody brilliant decided not to take the bike over to the Classic TT, because id have needed and oil change and new rear tyre and i thought its had enough of a thrashing the last few months and i didnt fancy blowing it up and getting stuck over there.
A few photo's of the bike in action:

So after enjoying the trackday so much and getting a few positive comments about my riding i have decided to go racing on my little 400. The ultimate goal is to race at the manx gp on an NC30, my head isnt in the clouds with this i havent got any crazy ideas of making any money or really going anywhere im simply doing it for the love of the sport and riding bikes fast.
So after all that hard work last winter restoring a fair few bits on the bike i will be converting it into a racebike over the next few months, id like to go proper road racing from the begining but im led to beleve that hardly any of the meets have a novice class so ill probably start off doing a few rounds with Bemsee in the F400 class next year and work towards my clubman and national licenses before doing some proper road racing and get an entry to the Manx gp.
A long road ahead of me but ill post some photo's of the racebike build in this thread.

Re: Kierans Race bike build with a few different fancy bits.
So we have a little bit of progress with the conversion from Road to Race bike:
Been pretty lucky and got hold of what i think is a full HRC system that was listed badly on ebay, needs a bit of work but ill get it on the bench grinder and give it a coat of heat proof paint. The JHA will be coming off and going in boxes up in the loft.

Since i got hold of that bit of HRC coolness i have decided to follow the F3 manual as much i can so i bought this:

Ill be lucky to get 78PS from this bike on my budget mind
Also bought a second hand fuel tap so i can do the tap conversion as ill be running full HRC carbs.

Obviously will be switched off every time i stop using the bike. I was going to get the bike dyno'd this afternoon before i start doing any work to it but the weather is shite so that can be saved for another day.

Re: Kierans type one resto with a few fancy bits.
Nice ain't they, I'd be surprised if they work any better than a set of EBC ones but they look cool as fook so I'm not worried.
No not yet I had planned to make you an offer on the bits you have for sale, but I think HRC carbs with all the other mods I'm doing will put me over 64bhp and rule me out of a few races, however I am going to setup one of my spare sets of carbs to HRC spec just to use then if I enter any races where there is no limit, so if you don't sell yours I'll give you a shout mate.
