mines completely shagged. plus im just over 100kgs kitted up so was looking for a viable option to replace the stock.

hrm.....i was hoping for something with separate rebound/compression due to it going to be spending a fair bit of time on the track.

Yeah well I guess that shock's not ideal then.

If your spring's not stuffed the cheap option would be to buy a gsx-r shock and fit the rvf spring to it. You can usually get these shocks off US ebay for about $100 landed.

The valving will be off but it will certainly work better than your tired standard shock. Probably the best budget-priced option.

K6-K7 600 and 750cc GSXR shocks will fit but i think the springs are tappered so not sure if the stock RVF spring will fit, not hard to overcome with a spacer though.

Personally i think the best budget option is to have a late spec NC30 shock rebuilt, next level would be a maxton or nitron etc replacement, budget no limit then id go for a HRC link which then allows shocks with a softer spring ie, R6, GSXR, BMW infact any modern shock with a spring rate of 5-600lbs(maybe more) to be used without revalving. That then opens up the door to more readily available high end shocks like ohlins, maxton etc from the above bikes.

Hrm, ok.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by a "late spec" nc30? Is there a particular model I'm after?

Sorry for the questions, I'm all new to road bikes, I could melt your brain about motards though :p

Early NC30's came with a non remote res shock, the later bikes came with a remote res shock which are considered better than the early units
