NC39 Engine Replacement

Hey guys.
I managed to pick up a NC39 here that's been in an accident for little to no money. The engine cases are cracked beyond repair.
I was wondering if its possible to transplant a NC31 engine into the frame/carbs/electrics with little or no hassles?
Or if anyone knows of a cheap NC39 engine for sale .

I'm not sure that the 31 engine will go into the 39 without taking over the ECU as well. I've read a bunch of stuff on the singapore forums about the 39's ECUs being fussy about being in exactly the right year of bike or they won't run the bike. If you get another engine, get the ECU with it if possible.

Which version of the 39 do you have? I've got a spec 1.
Heep hold of that knackered engine, there's a chance I may want to take it of your hands for parts if you cannot get it back up and running.

Looking at the pile of receipts I've got from the previous owner of my 39, he picked up a set of exhaust downpipes from DK motorcycles http://www.dkmotorcycles.com/ . I think they're different from the ones on the 31 so they may have more parts. It's worth giving them a call.

Yea ive emailed the wreckers about the ECU, just awaiting the reply.
Ive got a CB400SFY year 2000.

Im in the process of turning it into a cafe race\street tracker.

Anyone know if you can fit a NC29 engine into the NC39 frame??

Been offered a cheap one from a local.
