You can get new stanchions too, so if nothing else keep the old forks.
As for springs, best advice is do not shy away from upgrding them, its not difficult and its cheapear than most other things and in terms of price / performance its one of the best things you can do.
Imagine a pogo stick thats been used for 20 years or more... it doesnt quite have the same bounce it did when new.

Well ive won some new ones but I wont rule out changing the srings. Although il probaly do it further down the line once ive ridden the bike for a while. It was dare I say it on this site ment to be a stepping stone to bigger bikes but I do love the way it looks and I might get addited the the handling and corner speeds so it could well stay with me as a wet weather bike or i guess it would be awesome to take 2 bikes on a track day. I recon jumping between a 1000 and 400 would be good fun or take the 400 to the smaller tighter tracks.
Is rick oliver the only place to get springs. Im sure I saw some on ebay for around the £80 mark
