pillion seat latch

hello, could anyone help me out I have recently bought a vfr400 nc30 and the pillion seat will not latch down as it is missing the latching mechanism, the cable is there from the lock and nothing at the other end? anybody able to post a photo of what is on their one? or even better have one?
