I would if I could but im rebuilding the bike so no can do trying the coke then will give them a go over with some wire wool

If there is still plenty of "meat" on them, you might consider to find a local garage that have this...

Ive ground discs down on the lathe many times, its mainly done to remove any prominent lipping on the edge of the disc, not for rust.
The rust will go away as soon as you use the brakes a bit. The discs are not cast iron so they wont be all rust just a high iron content.
