Cammo, I suspect wambam87 has not if only because he has now found dud alternator connector. However a new charged battery that cranks the engine and produces spark on two cylinders should be able to produce 4 sparks provided the ignition control unit is functional.

What were the results from the tests to the ignition coil outlined in an earlier post.

Re: Nc30 only runs on 2 cylinders
Do you have a multimeter?
As the loss of spark started after you replaced the original "CDI", it might be better idea to locate a known good "CDI" to try. Maybe someone from this forum can help.
Assuming another "CDI" gets the engine running, then you can check the charging system. This is where the multimeter comes in.

Re: Nc30 only runs on 2 cylinders
Hi guys just started to go through what you suggested and lone-behold ive found out why my front 2 cylinders wernt working. It wasnt apparent till i tested to see if voltage was going to the front coil and it was. so i removed it in order to swap it with the rear one to see if it was a coil problem. And as i removed it i felt a wierd lump on the back of the coil and when removed it was OBVIOUS that it wouldnt work as it had infact exploded !! probably as a result of waaay too much electricity passing through the bike.
Heres a photo ( not very good with the imbeding of pictures.)

My only worry is now that its obviouse ALOT of power was fizzing around my bike what else could be dead?
Thanks for the help guys il update once ive got a new coil and try to work out the no revcounter problem

Re: Nc30 only runs on 2 cylinders
Given the number of over-voltage damaged parts you have already found, your tacho may also now be a dud. Also, if your bike has the speed sensor unit, it may now be stuffed with the result that the engine will misfire above 5000 rpm and finally some of the lamps may be blown.
