There's no way I'm risking breaking the magic box! It arrived today but I didn't get a chance to try the bike out with it fitted

I'll see if I can find out what it does by using a multi meter and a 12V supply, it should just (ha!) be case of sticking 12V in and seeing what comes out...

Daft question, if you bump start does it go into restricted mode then? Just trying to second guess how clever the tci is? lol

Kayla i had a thought, if you get chance, could you try your bike with the board just plugged in? Prob best to wrap it in tape first tho, but be carefull not to get anything between the opto sensor.

Hi Ian,

I will do. We're hopefully at Teesside circuit next Monday so I'll take a bare restrictor circuit and the M-max to test.

Hi, mi name is Rodrigo and i'm from Chile, y register in the forum to share my experience in this topic about the restrictor,

i don't have a good english so i really hope you understand me.....

in order to get rid of the restrictor the easy way is just open the speedo and take out the circuit, by take out i mean leave it outside the speedo but still conected, i got a 3en2 and i just do this and the restriction is off and the revs go up to the limit without any problem.

i do this for any 400 jap restricted bike and i never got problems, cbr, zxr, vfr (nc30 the 35 it's little diferent), gsxr etc...

the circuit it's really simple, when the " half moon " disc attached to the axle of the speedo interrups the optical sensor in the circuit the signal to the CDI cut off, and the CDI limit the spark for no further acceleration, in the 3en2 model and 3tj the half moon it's also interrupting the signal at 0 kms, this is to prevent you bypass the limiter just disconecting the speedo cable NOT for the need of signal of 0 kms this it's not the case.

just leave it outside but still conected, another way it's cut the half moon disc but it's a really pain in the ass.
