NC29 400 sudden death?
Hey guys, I was out riding on my CBR NC29 400 today, it was going fine around town and all, then once I got out onto the main road and opened up the throttle a little bit the bike just slowly dropped in revs and stop. Now it will not start.
any ideas what the problem is?
Im thinking it's junked up carbs cause its not been used in a while?

Check the simple things first. Such as electrical cables and connections (as well as earthing points) and fuses.
Also have you checked the output from your battery? Quite a common problem with these bikes is that the Regulator/Rectifiers stop working, hence the battery doesn't get charged (or gets ruined from overcharging).
A simple way to test the charging system, is to put a multimeter on the battery. Without the bike running check the voltage output, it should be over 12.3 Volts (preferably near 13 Volts). If it's lower than this try putting it on charge for a while. Come back to the bike when it's charged up. If you can start the bike, gently rev it to around 3000rpm, does the voltage increase? It should be around 14 to 16 Volts when revving. If the voltage doesn't increase when the bike is running then the charging system isn't working. Or if the voltages are very different something to the ones specified here (taken from the Haynes Manual) something may be at fault.

When it stopped, I tried starting it again the engine was turning over fine, it just would not start up, so I'm guessing that battery would be fine.
Is this correct?
I would try to try the multimeter thing just it will not start so....I can not.
I guess I can charge it and try again though.

The most obvious & first thing to check is fuel!
Filter might be blocked, is it in reserve already, or needs to be turned on to reserve.

Well it died again, 3rd time within the past week. And I have no clue what it is. I give it half an hour and it Sometimes starts up with alot of effort. or a hour or so later she fires right up.
Really need some help on this:/ things Ive check... are..
stator is getting 14/15ac volts at idle across three wires 30ac volts at 3,000 rpm
Fuel Lines have been blown though.
Fuel Pump is Pumping fuel.
Carbs bowls are filling.
Inline filter is clean
Fuel coming from petcock.
R/R has been checked (And I think it's okay)
New set of NGK spark plugs gapped at 0.8/0.9mm
Sparking from the plugs blue/purple (Iriduim plugs)
Redex carb cleaner though the Carbs (Not been stripped down yet I see no need since there working fine when they do work)
Battery fully charged at 12.9volts.
So yeah. my heads ratterling.
I dont dare go out on it a mile from my house, and pushing it home is getting annoying, when it shes does run, shes running perfectley.
anyone care to shead some light on this for me?

Could it be the Airbox not coping with demand when you accelerate? Might be worth having a look at the airfilter.

It's unlikely, but the tank may not be breathing correctly. When it stops have you tried opening the tank to see if it will start after then?

hmm. no I haven't tried that. is there anyway how I can find out if it is or not without breaking down? :p
like taking it for a small ride then opening the cap to see if it hisses?

Good morning, I tell you that when I had my first NC23 had similar problems. I was turned off and could not start it for the world.
I was a thousand mechanics and everyone says different things.
In my case, and say just investigate the problem.
In my bike was THE IGNITION SENSOR. This just left side (peeled up the bike), this sacala the ignition cover and there it is, is a square with a nail that touches the vendix. That nail in my case was average metia safada and oil in and not let hot start.
