NC30 Petrol Tap Arrangement HELP!

I recently replaced the engine and stupidly didn't take any notice of which pipes went where. (I can almost hear you all laughing now)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I have tried following the manual but it is not too clear to me (a novice spanner wrangler at best).

The big pipe is for the fuel which goes to the carbs, the little pipe goes to the outside and then to cylinder 3 for vaccumn

If you do just make sure you use a drybreak connector or similar so you can disconnect the fuel from the carbs. You'll never have a problem then (maybe only if you forget to disconnect it!).

If you don't disconnect the line the cylinder can potentially fill with fuel bending rods when started, it happens...

If you run no airbox you'll need the hrc fuel tap mod. Ramair will need a fuel pump.

Thanks mate. I noticed when I took the vacuum system out even with the tap off there was always a little drip,drip of fuel coming out.
Where do I get one of those drybreak fuel things then?

I wouldn't recommend running the HRC fuel tap mod unless you have to - unfortunatley some of us do and you need to be very well organised to disconnect the fuel when not in use. I haven't tried the metal connectors, but I've had touble with the plastic ones (the O-rings don't seem to like heat!).

I got mine off eBay. They don't cost much and will do the job. I won't mention any names , but some racers use air compressor couplings with no problems. They're heavy and expensive, but they do the job if you do the o-rings on your proper one .

Unfortunately i have to run my bike with the fuel tap mod as for reasons unbeknown to me it doesn't run with the vaccum. But so far so good nothing has happend to the bike it's fine and i haven't used anything just taken the vacuum out. It does drip even when off but i always remember to turn it to off everytime i get off the bike. Touch wood there won't be any future problems.

For a standard road bike, please stay away from the tap mod. Royster has a pic of a holed piston which had run the tap mod and it has a nice 5p sized hole in the crown of it.

I ran the tap mod on my track-bike as it was a necessity, I also had to run a fuel pump too (ram-air) but I had a dry break coupling for when I wasn't riding the bike.
