33 Bhp Restrictors NC13/NC24?

Post by Black Light »

Hi,
Recently got a VF400F (NC13) and having a bit of trouble sorting out restrictors for it (I'm on a 33bhp licence).
Someone on ebay told me that some VFR400 (NC24) restrictors work after taking a small amount off the outer diameter.
Has anyone had any experience with the restrictors on the NC24 or NC13?
This is where the bike is at the moment. I need to get the carbs off so I can take some measurements but it looks a real pain to do. Would I be better having the tray on and lifting the whole lot up or try and do it with the tray off?
Or is there a better way to restrict it?
Thanks

Any idea how they might fit / work in a VF400F?

As to the op. Remove the carbs with the top plate attached.

What I mean is if you have to ask what size the inlet rubbers are then were these restrictors designed for the VF400? Will the HP be correct after installing?

The VF400 produces less power than the VFR400 NC30 as astock

Thanks guys,
Once I get the carbs off I'll take some measurements. I think the vf400f produced 55ish HP when new (on paper) I should imagine some have disappeared over the years though, the vfr400 (nc30) is closer to 60hp? I'm not sure if the nc24 had the same or less?

NC21,24 and 30 all made 59hp.

NC35 made 53hp.

NC21, 24 and 30 all use similar types of VDE carbs, not sure whats fitted to the old VF

Right, took me a while to find some time to take the carbs off but I've done it. It was a little difficult to measure in the space available. Looking on the engine side, the outside diameter = approx 33.5mm, inside dia = approx 27.5mm edge = 3mm. So I'm looking for restrictors with an outside dia between 27.5-33.5 (preferably 33.5). As I said I've been told the vfr400 nc24 restrictors should be fairly close to that.
