NC30 wiring loom route on the subframe!!??

Post by Cal Walker » Mon Jul 15, 2013 11:27 am

Hi guys,

I sourced a second hand straight subframe, due to mine being bent and the exhaust not lining up correctly (See: Exhaust doesn't seem to line up right!!??)

As the previous owner(s) have let the bike go down on its side and the subframe being bent, the loom has been wrapped around and bodged to the subframe as some of the brackets are missing. Now I'm wanting to fit the new one to the bike can someone please show me a photo or diagram of how the loom attaches to the subframe and the correct route it should take when running along it?

If anyone could get back to me i would be very grateful!

Regards.....Cal

I've literally just done this job myself at the weekend! The wiring loom sits behind the bracket for the reg/rec and comes out just behind it and plugs into the lights harness at the back of the bike on the outside of the subframe. I've got pics, but they're at home and I'm at work!
It's a bastard of a job trying to get the actual subframe off the bike because subframe sits inside the back of the undertray. Also I cross threaded a couple of the frame fixing bolts so beware of that as it's easy to do because it's under so much tension. I'm currently waiting for a metric fine tap set to tap out the thread on the frame so I can get the bolts in properly!

Cheers Jo,

Will take that in mind then, cheers for the heads up! I've already got the undertray off while the subframe was still on (lots of swearing and shouting come on!) Just got to swap them now, is there any chance that you could ping us a photo tonight when you have a moment?

Many thanks........Cal

NC30 service manual should have all the cable routing diagrams in the first chapter?
