Carb Info

Post by Maelstrom »

Hi all,
I am putting the finishing touches on the Super 4 Carb kits.
In the attached diagram I read the parts as follows.
1/ It appears to have 2 fuel hoses (parts 30 and 31) and these attach to 2 fuel tees (part 4)
that are located between carbs 1-3 and 2 - 4.
2/ There are three large vacuum breather tubes, the centre one being a Tee (parts 3 and 5).
3/ There are two float bowl vent tees (part 2), again located between carbs 1-3 and 2 - 4.
Is this correct?

Finally is the choke plunger retaining nut a 10mm or 14mm hex?
cheers
Blair

I just checked my carbs and adjusted them today.

1/ It appears to have 2 fuel hoses (parts 30 and 31) and these attach to 2 fuel tees (part 4)
that are located between carbs 1-3 and 2 - 4.
These are your fuel bowl vents. They sit into a little recess on the airbox

2/ There are three large vacuum breather tubes, the center one being a Tee (parts 3 and 5).
Go to airbox with a 90 degree pipe. goes to the side that looks like a foam filter. not the one with the reed valve.

3/ There are two float bowl vent tees (part 2), again located between carbs 1-3 and 2 - 4.
These are the fuel inlet lines, the fuel feed T piece goes to a line from the fuel tap. Line from the fuel tap has a spring over it to avoid kinks.

So you were close, if you had of hooked it up like you said then you would have filled your airbox with fuel until it reached the inlet.

Thanks Mr Gidanski. Your help is much appreciated.
I had the fuel tees mixed up with the float bowl vents.
I do not have a Super Four or I would not be asking. I am just wanting to clear this up so that I label the diagram correctly and can be sure that I have the correct number of parts in the kit.
cheers
