which screen is this?

Post by scubasteve »

hi guys
ive recently purchased a go pro and could do with buying a clear screen so i can mount it on the tank as my current screen is black. unfortunately due to my unusual 3 piece fairings im unsure which screen would fit my bike. my bike is a 1993 model vfr 400 however the fairings are rvf lookalikes with round headlight cut outs. im unsure whether i need to buy a nc30 screen or nc35 screen. the measurement from top left to top right is approx 15inches across. here is some pictures if anyone can help

Never seen fairings like these before!

Looks like an RVF screen to me, I'm sure one of the guru's will be along soon to confirm/correct

Yeah. Like I say, it's a bit of a weird one. My mate thinks it might be an old tyga kit but I'm not sure myself. It comes off in 3 pieces. The rear tail is the same as rvf as are the cut outs near the handle bars on the front fairing but it has the standard round lights.

What does it look like from the inside?
Fibreglass, cut modified plastics?
It could be a 'one off'

This is an item number for a cheap clear rvf screen on the bay
110937865707

If you buy it could you report back on the quality of it please?

They are fibreglass by the looks of it. this is a picture of the inside of the fairings

dont think they are modified rvf fairings as its a proper mould around the headlights rather than someone just cutting two holes in them

took these measurements for the screen thats currently fitted but cant seem to find the info online anywhere to help me identify if these measure up to a nc30 or nc35 screen

Is the the stop ring circlip of the right fork I can see hanging down near the lower yolk?

If it is then It should be at the top of the fork in the proper groove, it is used to locate the forks to their correct height in the yolks.
