N30 Jetting at altitude

Not so much a question as a comment for conversation sake because its quite surprising / interesting. I have a tyga can on my bike and just spoke to the bike shop down the road who does quite a bit of NC30 work on their Dyno. I am going to strip and have a look at my carbs this weekend (while the bike is "in pieces"). The bike feels flat in the midrange (I know its only a 400 but I recall a friends being quite a bit stronger). My bike had the stacks cut short "to give maximum horsepower" and I suspect it has been overjetted on the "more petrol = more horsepower" type logic. I suspect the combination of the two is causing the midrange to be a bit flat (just put a 42 teeth rear sprocket on for good measure). The point is that the bike shop told me they found that 110 jets all round is what works best on the Nc30 at our altitude (Johannesburg is 1700 meters above sea level), I was surprised how small these are (I suggested the 118/120 route to them) but I am going to give it a crack (change them this weekend and then run it on their dyno)... And I have downloaded Cammo's carb guide (shot for that Cammo, nicely done)

110's all round, 5 hole emulsion tubes in front and 1mm washer on needles

I'll have to give that a go as well... this is pretty close to my altitude here in New Mexico...
