CB400SF New Member + resistor mod

Post by dan_33_king »

heya guys, my name is danny, im new to this site and fairly new to the joys of grey bike ownership having recently passed my direct access and inheriting the bike from my little bro. i have just carried out the resistor mod on my 93 nc31 and cannot believe the difference it has made to the bike, she no longer miss fires in the midrange, has more power throughout the rev range, revs higher (sounds beautiful when on song) and a higher top speed ! As my machine was accident damaged when i got her, i used the ends of the wires from the original clocks ( about 2in from the connector) and soldered the resistor across these wires (i used a 2.2k Resistor). I was therefore able to tuck the resistor in to the headlight housing and leave the connector easily accessible next to the headstock for quick restriction if any body decides to inspect the bike.

many thanks for all the information i found on this site, it has been extremely helpfull. i will post a picture of my mod shortly. hopefully this will be as much use to someone else as it has been to me.

next up a powerbronze sabre fairing, upgrade air filter and hopefully a set of twin pipes if i can find anything suitable ( and if the missus dont moan about it to much lol). any other suggestions would be greatfully accepted

many thanks
