Restricted NC 29
Can someone point me in the right direction please.
NC29 topping out about 90 ish so i reckon its restricted. So how is it restricted ie washers in carb or electrical ?.
How do you go about removing the offending object.

speedo restriction kicks in at 112mph so it isnt that.
no idea when the carb washer restriction kicks in as i have never had a restricted like that.

well my 29 is restricted and ive hit the 112mph speedo restrictors takes a long time to get there though. and mine revs cleanly to about 12,500 and goes to around 14 but with no more power. if it is 33bhp then they u gotta take the carbs off they underneath that.
dunno if that helps.

Re: Restricted NC 29
ive had the carb restrictors but it should be going faster than 90, to check take off tank and air box. now remove carbs, dont know if your ve done this before so excuse me if im patronizing you, there are 2 sets of collars holding them on use a torch to see which screws are going to be easiest to access as sometimes these are (sitting on bike) put on right side but facing to the far left (if so and youll need this anyway) a long phillips is needed unscrew all 4 collars lift carbs off you'll see 4 1 and a bit washers with 1p sized oval holes in them sitting at tops if they aint there then youve got another problem as 29 doesn't have an ECU restrictor, possibly a throttle one but haven't come across it.

Re: Restricted NC 29
can we get a bit of history of the bike....
how long have you had it?
has it been sat around in a back yard for a few/long months?
was it a runner when you bought it?
have you done any work to it recently?
when was the last time it was tuned?

The mrs has had it about 3 years but but no real history prior to that. Since in our ownership its done about 300 miles if that, as she had not passed her test and was happy on her wee CBR125. So i just kept it on the road and took it out now and then to keep it running.I have no knowledge of how these were restricted and what sort of speed it should push out even when restricted so for the past few years i never questioned it untill i was chatting to a guy who said thats a bit slow. Its never been tuned to my knowledge but i have serviced it within the last year (oil filters plugs ect). Now she has got her test done she wants to get it done up but first i want to find out why its not going fast enough.
I will try and get some time to get into the carbs and look for the 1p washers ect and let you know if there or not.
thanks for the help guys and i will try and stick a wee pic of it up as it is now, but once the power problem sorted it will look totaly different as sale of wee CBR 125 is funding TyGA kit and some other wee bits.
im amazed but i got the pic thing working 1st time there it is below.
