Replacement front rotors

Post by GlenR » Tue Jun 18, 2013 11:11 pm

Had a quick search and didn't see it mentioned specifically so i'll ask -

Both front rotors on the nc35 are way under thickness and the brakes are pretty grabby, so need some new ones. For the last bike i had, i used these rotors from this seller and to be fair, the quality was actually pretty fantastic, amazing even for the money so would like to go with them again.

However, from having a poke around the stock thickness appears to be 4mm and these are stated to be 4.5mm. Will this pose a problem by using the slightly thicker rotors in regard to fitting them in the caliper and so forth?

Thanks!

Nope- no problems as long as the caliper pistons can move freely. ...

Odd that the listing says 4.5mm and the discs in the picture have 4.0 engraved on them....!

Edit: ok, the listing will be stating the new thickness I guess. Durr...

I believe the Min Thickness on the factory discs is 4.5mm (It is on my NC30 discs anyway)

Those discs are rated to a min thickness of 4.0mm so as long as your pads still contact the disc at 4mm then using those discs inplace of one that are certified to 4.5mm should be no issue.
