Valve clearance question

Post by Baz »

Hi guys, I have just done my valve clearances using the forum guide (which is nice and easy to follow  )
All of my shims are in the tolerances apart from the 2 inlet ones on cyl no 4.
0.13 is very tight and 0.10 is a bit too easy to slide in and out (my gauges dont have a 0.12)
This is right on the edge of the recommended tolerance but do you reakon I could leave it? How long will it take to go another 0.1 or so and put it out of the range? I use my bike for commuting so it gets used regularly but I dont thrash it.
I'm thinking of leaving it and checking again at the end of summer when the NC30 gets wrapped up for winter. Do you think I could get away with this?

Do you not have a 0.10 and a 0.02 blade? Other wise you need to get some better guages they dont cost alot on ebay £3ish

DOH!! never thought of putting 2 together!
OK, so one measures 0.11 and the other is 0.10
Will this cause a problem if I leave em till winter?
(I plan on a full strip down and rebuild at the end of the summer).
