No unless you use a NC30 CDI, pickups and possibly some other fettling. More hassle than its worth.

Re: Can I run a nc30 harness on an nc35 motor?
I can pick up a 30 for almost what I can get for a 35 harness, was going to pull the pickups, starter clutch and the loom out of it and run it on the 35. that would then give me a spare motor etc to play around with.
What I am asking is more can it be done and will I have mapping issues on the cdi?

Ok, I remember reading something eons ago about mike norman having issues with the 30 loom the map being different for the head changes. Was maybe hoping somebody would chime in with some details.

don't recall that - there are plenty of 30 motors with 35 heads on and so what do they run?

very fair call. well, i''ll give it a crack and chuck it on the dyno and see if it still makes the same power.

Weren't the valve events revised ever so slightly on the 35? I'm sure that Honda doc with the diagrams of the differences shows a very slightly revised cam profile?

The valves and cams are slightly different, i think the RVF are 1mm bigger and the overlap duration is slightly different as well as the opening (as seen in the diragram above)speedy231278 wrote:
Im not how the ignition timings vary between the two igntiion units and the effect it has on power but you can bolt them together and it will run out of the box quite well for sure.
If the igntion timing has room for improvement then you could always stick the ignitech unit on and play wiht the timing if you have enough access to dyno time.
