Embarrassing N00B question - turn off main beam on NC35

Post by adamski »

Hi there Guys,

Just took delivery of my beautiful NC35. I took her for her first spin tonight and I am still grinning :)

Just one thing, I cant seem to take the lights off full beam. Pressing the light button just seems to turn them off instead of dimming them.

Probably super obvious would love somebody to point me in the right direction.

Are you saying that you only have high beam and no low beam. My understanding is that the NC35 should have low beam on when you turn the ignition on and it should remain on until the ignition is turned off, headlight on always safety mode.

headlights are twin filament bulbs, maybe the normal beam filaments have burnt out? take the bulb out and shake it - will hear a noise if this is the case and can often see visually that a filament has gone too.

Either the bulb have burnt out or your switch is knackered from the use of H4 bulbs without a relay.

Check the headlight bulbs first, if they are H4 and the filmametns are ok chances are there is no relay and the switch is knackered.

If someone has sold you a bike with dodgy switchgear (this fault is a common issue) then I'd be back to the seller for them to fix it!

Yes,

it appears that there is no low beam, just hi-beam or nothing

Will give the place a ring where I got it as they said it has passed the MOT and their 20 point check - Hmmm

Thanks

you will want to get onto them, especially when you come to price up new switchgear!
