Baked the brake discs in the oven yesterday, stank the kitchen out even with the windows open and the fan on but oh well.



The rear and one of the fronts came out really well, but the other front bubbled up. I think some shit had been blown onto it by the wind inbetween coats and I hadn't noticed and sprayed over anyway. Got another can of paint on it's way though and I've already sanded off the bubbles ready.





New wheels turned up yesterday and my Dad kindly took them to get the tyres removed today but forgot to bring the tyres back with him. Which is annoying but they didn't have a lot of life left in them anyway and the garage didn't charge my Dad for removal.






New tyres also turned up today, a set of BT-090's and a BT-092 rear.



Will be sending these four wheels to Classic Coatings in Grantham on saturday for them to be done in gloss white. Got a quote of £50 a wheel which includes blasting, visual check over, masking, coating and then baking with a special thing after to toughen the powder coat even more. Good price I thought.



My 929 blade M/C turned up today too. Has a bolt missing, but no biggie, I'll just stick a stainless one in there if one fits otherwise I'll get one from DSS. My calipers still haven't arrived though so I'll be chasing them down if they don't come tomorrow.

More progress and shiny things

Got the rear disc fitted on Saturday afternoon, also cleaned up the rear caliper and general rear end. Also took the front sprocket cover off and cleaned out the filth behind there.





Also got the front disc re-sprayed at the same time, then baked on Sunday. It didn't bubble this time but looks a little rough, I can live with that though.





New fully re-furbed forks, with Rick O internals, came from Kurt yesterday and I couldn't resist getting them out and sticking the caliper brackets on them to see what they looked like





Today I picked up my wheels from the powdercoater and they have done an amazing job. Absolutely fantastic stuff, lovely thick powdercoat with all the mating and bearing surfaces bare. Done in 2 working days aswell, not sure if they weren't too busy or what but I'm really not bothered

Tyres have been fitted but the wheels are not balanced yet as he wasn't able to do the single sided rears, and needed the front wheel to have discs and bearings in. Hopefully my Dad will take them to get balanced over the weekend while I'm away

Started sorting the new front end out tonight. Swapped the forks over, forgetting to swap the mudguard mounts at first but luckily realised my mistake just after I took the picture with it missing. Also got the brakes all mounted and torqued up minus fluid reservoir as I'm still waiting for the new bracket to come for it. Plus I also need a brake line guide but they have been discontinued so a wanted ad is up.













Got the front wheel bearings and seals in, and the brake discs on with new OEM bolts all torqued up





Wheels look an absolute treat, cannot wait to get them fitted on

Last things to do before it can pass it's MOT is get the front brakes bled up (m/c reservoir bracket needed) and get my exhaust back from PJEngineering. The guys at PJ e-mailed me the other day saying they were having to make a one off carbon sleeve for my exhaust as it's a non-standard size apparently, 100mm ID. Should have it back mid to late next week though and get my MOT booked for the week after.

Can't frigging wait, I hate the train.

Well boring bits first.

Spoke to PJEngineering today and they haven't even started working on my exhaust after 15 days when they said it'd be a 7 day turnaround They said they'd start it on Thursday, as they need to make up a temporary spacer thing for their whatever so they can make the one-off carbon tube. Sounds to me like they couldn't be fucked to do it so shoved it to the back of the pile.

Also when I ordered a new front reservoir bracket froms Lings as DSS didn't have one in I thought I'd be getting it this week. But I got an e-mail saying they didn't have it and it'd be 3 weeks until they did. Fuck that. So after a good day out with the GF on Sunday and a few beers I went and bought a very expensive Rizoma adjustable bracket off eBay which should come tomorrow. Nice bit of bling me thinks

Yesterday I finally managed to get the wheels balanced. No where in Newark can balance single siders and Grantham Honda's balancer had broke, so me and Dad went off to DC motorcycles in Hucknall to get them done. Top guys they were

Now after work today I managed to get the wheels fitted with new fork pinch bolts. I also got some OEM seat fairing bolts and fitted them too, but forgot to get a pic.















Front end looks fantastic, minus grotty spindle, bolt and spacers.

Only problem is now the wheels look so damn good, everything else looks shitter......

Final things to do before MOT is get my exhaust back and slip that on and get the front brakes all sorted and bled up, then I'll be rolling in the nice weather

The problem of doing one thing is that it snowballs very quickly. Once one bit is nice and shiney it just draws your attention to the non shiney bits so they've then got to become shiney as well.

But it is looking very nice indeed.

Yeah snowballing is happening in my brain, but I'm trying to stop it.....

Anyway, the fancy ass Rizoma fluid reservoir bracket came yesterday. So I got the front brakes all sorted and bled up. Very tight to get the M/C reservoir on without it hitting the fairing/brace when turning the bars.







My exhaust came back today, damn right they did it on next day delivery piss-takers.







Sanded off the corrosion and shit old paint on the BSAU plate and sprayed with some silver hammerite, then baked it on with my heat gun as I was impatient



Got the holes all marked up and drilled for it, then riveted into place.





And fitted back to the bike
She wouldn't start easily as she's been sat for two weeks, but with a good bit of cranking on full choke she spluttered into life and quickly warmed up. Exhaust sounds much better than before, less rattly but a little bit louder (think they forgot to put the internal baffle thingy in).







All ready for MOT on Monday morning, fingers crossed

Just need to wait til Porndog gets time to do Ethos stickers and she'll be looking lovely, plus a full strip and refurb, and new panels, and ...................................

Ive done the artwork that took a while im not 100% how well it would come pit but well see bare with.
