NC30 not starting
My NC30 wouldn't start during the week despite repeated attempts.
My O/H thought it was the battery (the battery WAS only showing 11volts) this has since been replaced and we thought it would be fine.
But...
It still won't start. Have checked the spark plugs (they are sparking) and there is petrol getting through to the carbs.
Have checked and remade some dubious looking electrical connections but it still won't start.
Headlights are bright with ignition on and it came with the upgraded (finned) regulator/rectifier but don't know the procedure to test the r/r.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: NC30 not starting
when you try to start the bike is the starter and engine turning over?
what about the kill switch?
11volts would not be enough to even crank the engine but its probably that low from repeated attempts to start the bike.
the lights being bright with the bike off is because its getting power from the battery.

The starter motor and engine are turning over, its just not firing.
As mentioned we've now put a brand new battery in and still no joy.

kill switch?
on the nc30 even when the kill switch is on it wont fire up but it will turn over and over and over........
the only doubt to this is you say there is a spark and if the switch was on then there shouldnt be a spark.

Re: NC30 not starting
Read that .pdf document, it is the Honda factory workshop manual for the NC30, you can test to make sure that you have a good electrical system.
With a fully charged battery it should still start though, even if the reg/rec is shafted.
They can be fussy to start, full choke and NO throttle at all until it fires then rev it a bit. Have you had it fire at all? It sounds like you might be having a fuelling issue.
Common problems are the vaccumn tap hose gets broke / disconnected / kinked so no fuel goes to the engine, if you open up a carb drain screw you'll see if you have petrol in the carbs.
