NC29 Front Brake Master Cylinder

Post by CBR400RR_Repsol » Thu Apr 25, 2013 8:34 pm

Hi all

More brake questions...

So I'm upgrading the brakes to be EBC prolite discs, I'm using the original calipers but refurbing them. I'm also fitting Hel Stainless steel brake lines.

Hopefully these seem like good, worthwhile upgrades to everyone...

Questions:
1. Is it worth getting an aftermarket Front Master Brake Cylinder and what would be a good one to get? Or should I just refurb the original?
2. Besides having that bit of bling is the HRC Rear Brake Reservoir a good upgrade?

Thats all for now... :peace:

Thanks everyone

Is it leaking? If you want to spend then maybe a new master cylinder repair kit.

Depends who you ask. If you really want one then go for it but the tube does sweat. Why a bit of bling you cant see the original as its behind the fairing panel.

EBC discs, new Honda pads, fresh fluid and braided hoses on the front are a very good combination.

Thanks for the answers...very much as I thought.

I was hoping not to have to spend the £250ish on a new master cylinder if the original is just as good!

The rear reservoir can stay as I'm not really that fussed on unnecessary upgrades.

Forgot to mention I've got new pads - EBC sintered to go with the new discs.

Seems I'm just about done with the brakes...on to suspension! :blowout:

Thanks again
Kev

Love the feel of the CBR1000 radial master cylinder on my 400 racer.

Buy the right size tygon hose from Kurvey Girl on eBay, get a chair leg plug from a hardware store and bob's your mother's brother.

Matt
