NC35 rear shock Jack up plate (made by Rick Oliver)
Hi all, need some advice. I installed a aftermarket rear shock into my bike which has been built for my weight but it doesn't have ride height adjustability (its the same standard length 305mm), so I decided I would raise the bike up by using a replica HRC jack up plate (slides in on top of shock) which I bought from Rick Oliver. However since I am jacking the back up will I have to bring the front forks up through the yoke as per HRC manual?
It's says to put them trough 10mm which seems quite a lot, I will be riding mostly on the road and also the odd track day. The only alteration I have made to the front is I upgraded the fork springs which are also suited to my weight.
Is there even much gain from altering the ride height from standard? Any guidance appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

There's a lot to gain even on a standard road bike by raising the rear.
It helps turn in and general agility with virtually no drawbacks in my opinion. I suggest you fit the rear shim, try out the improved handling and if you feel you want to go further then you can drop the forks in the yoke.
Raising the rear is the best bang for buck mod on these bikes IMO.
