Re: The NC30 & 35 tyre thread
I got more than a season commuting and doing weekend runs on my NC30 with BT-016's. I would suggest trying them. They have plenty of side grip too as they're multi-compound. They only make a 160 width for the 18inch rear but I didn't have any fitment issues. If it's under inflated it will rub the chain ever so slightly but not enough to damage the tire or upset the ride.NGneer wrote:Ok - so I am plannign on getting one of my NC30s out of storage and riding it from the UK back down to the German /Austrian border for a seasons fun on the Alpine roads and if the weather is nice I am also plannig to use it on occasion for comuting to work (@100 mile round trip) to break up the bordom of the day a bit. As such I am looking for your thoughts on more of a long life tyre for the NC30 rather than a knee down scratcher.
I would love to run some sticky BT090's or Alpha 10's but I am thinking BT092s are probobly the more logical choice.
Open to suggestions or ideas
Nobody sells BT-090's in NC30 sizes in North America for some reason. I've ordered a set from Ireland this week (still way cheaper shipped here than buying a local set of BT-016's amazingly) and I'm curious how those will compare. I don't expect them to last as long but if they're as sticky as I hear it will be worth it.

Re: The NC30 & 35 tyre thread
So, I've finally made my mind up and will be getting a new set of 090's on the bike
Was going to order from here for £165 + £8 post : http://www.nationalbiketyres.co.uk/moto ... at_36.html
But then a friend found this site and the 090's have a new tread pattern for £166 delivered
Anybody used this site before? http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop. ... ogle&m_s=1
Any advice appreciated, cheers

Anybody shed some light on this tread pattern? Is it a new tyre or just a photo of the wrong tyre in the wrong place? Are bridgestone making 090's again?
EDIT: Can't find anything on Bridgestones website, not even in discontinued tyres....

That's a pic of a really old 090. With regards to them being discontinued I contacted a ebay seller not so long ago and they said they had 090's and 92's date stamped 2012, I can't say how true that is tho as I haven't ordered any yet.

So am i right in thinking that the bt090 has now been discontinued? Just checked thier website and it seems you can only get 090 fronts and 090pro rears in 17inch, think i need to pull my finger out and get hold of a 17inch rear sharpish!

Received my 090 from crossan yesterday and its date stamped 12 so thats a year old 150/60/18 for £92 delivered, not half bad if you ask me.

Re: The NC30 & 35 tyre thread
Just got an e-mail back from thevisorshop/crossan and they assured me that Bridgestone were not discontinuing the BT090 and that all their tires in stock are within a year of their date-stamp.
