No spitting of coolant , i will try fitting another temp gauge tomorrow.
I understand i dont need the gauge but it will bother me all day if its like that

99% sure its electrical anyway.
To fill the system.
Bike on side stand, fill up to the top and run the bike with the cap off, run it until warm and squeeze the lower hoses a little. Crack the throttle to 5000rpm nd let the rpm setttle.. do that 3 times and turn the bike off.
Let it cool, fill the rad to the top and put the cap on.

Had another go and it's now sorted , removed the thermostat and hosing and tested that which was fine .
I then got the hose out and bunged up one hose , fitted the rad cap and gave it a good flush out , then refitted it and filled it up again and all was good. .
