Over 100,000 km's is easily achievable with these engines if they're serviced properly and looked after.

Re: Whats everyones mileage?
Usually they begin to lose compression pressure from rings, liners and valves wearing over time. This is normal age related wear and tear and to be expected.
Regular oil and oil filter changes, along with keeping the air filter in good condition is the best way to get good mileage from the engine.
How hard the bike is ridden can relate to engine life, but there's a big difference between using an engine hard with mechanical sympathy to just plain thrashing the thing.

Re: Whats everyones mileage?
I wouldn't worry about engine life too much, these little V4's are right up there with the best moto engines when it comes to durability.
I reckon that more motorbikes get crashed and wrecked than engines dying of old age!

Re: Whats everyones mileage?
Somewhere in the middle of the 118000km bracket on my NC35. Round trip to Brands this weekend just gone with some mates. Comment after the ride up from one was that they were surprised how nippy it is. They were more surprised when I suggested it could do a lot better on private land and find the end of the speedo... lol Apparently mine smells really nice on the motorway, perhaps Castrol Power 1 has delusions of being Castrol R?

Re: Whats everyones mileage?
I've owned 5 now with mileages up to 60kish. The only NC engine i had go was a race bike with a lightly tuned engine where the large end failed due to lack of lubrication.

Re: Whats everyones mileage?
Roughly 12k miles on my RVF, can't remember when the MPH conversion was done. She has been waiting 18 months for me to get the time / funds to get her back on the road.
