Mugello. It was epic

Nothing more to say really, if it's been organised it'll be here.

Mugello. It was epic

Post by vfrman »

Anyone remember the track bike I was making out of spare parts? Well, today I had it ripping around Mugello. For me the best part of the day was the penultimate lap of my last session of the day. I was setting up for the final turn and this RSV4 slides in on my left and gets right in front of me. I am proud to say I was up his ASS until we got off the edge of the tire...then he was f-ing gone! By the time I was braking for turn one, he was already out of it heading for two.

Those RSV4's are sick bikes and they're about the same size as the NC30s when you put them side by side. Hopefully I can keep up with one on my NC in the turns. I'd think the NC should carry more corner speed since it's much lighter.

It isn't lighter with my fat ass on it! I just watched the vid and he is pulling on me slightly, but I think that is because I let off a little at corner entry when he parked it in front of me and I wasn't able to catch back up. I really wish the bike had a little more power. It is night and day from my 1098s. I'll try to get the vid edited and up in the next day or so...

Good efforts Steve! About time that bike was finished and got used. Looking forwards to the video footage.

So, Mugello...as good as it promised to be?

Yes. Quite a nice track. I was playing it a lot on MotoGP '08 for my PS3, and the game don't do it justice. The elevation changes and blind corners are awesome.

A white RSV4 just ragged past me as I was walking back from Tesco's. I have to say it did sound rather nice.

That's why I want some engine work done and why I've been eating less. Mine only has 52.5rwhp but handles great. Another 20 to 30+hp would go a long way. Not trying to brag but I got an 2011 RSV4 Factory and its a completely different animal compared to my nc's.

That is how I feel about my 1098s. That thing was stupid fast but I only lapped 5 sec faster than on the NC, despite a top end of 272 kph...I guess I like to corner faster on the NC.

How does the wear look??

It's looking like I need new tires on the nc and then for some reason there's some chunks missing out of the left edge:| It's never been to the track but I've ridden it pretty hard in the canyons and the snake at muholland. If its like my old NC29, it's going to need a little more power. The RSV4 is too nice to bring to the track for me. Id probably have it doing cartwheels into a wall. I want to get better on the nc35 bike I'm putting together first before I take the RSV4 out to the track.

There's one guy out here with an RSV4RR. It's a special track only bike that has up spec everything. The dude is the fastest guy out there. A couple other RSV4 owners I know are actually faster on a 600 because they're willing to push it harder on a cheaper bike.
