Bridgestone BT090 are a good tyre and available in the vfr 18" rear, they'd be very capable on the track.
If your looking for a track focused tyre you may have to look into getting a 17" rear as there is limited tyre choice for the standard 18".
If you switch to a 17" rear i'd recommend a set of Pirelli diablo supercorsa's, got a set on my race bike and they are the best tyres i've ever used.

I run a 17" RVF on mine, so that makes a big difference between the geometry of our bikes. Not sure what you would want to do with the front fork height with the 18" rear wheel, but you probably don't want to go crazy on rear ride height. I run Pirelli superbike slicks(SC1 front, SC2 rear)on mine, don't think I'd run them on the road though!

Ya, think I will move the forks up to standard height and put a rose joint adjustable setup in the rear suspension and lift that by 10 mil (the 18 inch wheel should do the rest) ... at least if I ride down the road and I start screaming like a little girl I can adjust it back down  ... random comment time... its 22h00 here and the thunder and lightening is insane... it just tripped the power in the house scary stuff.

I use an 18" rear wheel on my road bike, rear raised 1" (lower link shortened by 8mm) and forks lowered 5mm through the yokes. This is a similar setup I used on my racebike.

The bike turns in well and is a pleasure to flick through corners.

I don't think the bike is 'twitchy' or unstable at all on the road, but people have different preferences.
