I had an L model in pepsi colours, handled great, better than the KR1 before it and better than the KR1S I have now, but then 20 years ago a lot of things seem better retrospectively.
That damn'd L model tho did about 19mpg when it was cold and wouldn't get warm. I remember taking it down to Exmoor for the w/e and it costs me about £90 in fuel, which was a lot on a salary that was just over a £100!

I sold my first one back in 93 because it was costing me £100 a month in Michelin Hi Sports not to mention the oil and petrol. Bear in mind I was on £3400 a year at the time :-(

here's my 'S

last time I ran it was pouring white smoke from the RHS pot and the fuel was leaking out the overflow for that carb, so I'm not sure quite what's wrong. Seems to be way down the list of bikes that need to be fixed tho!

Those old hi sports were great tyres but God they wore out quickly; even on the road.
