nc23 cutting out

Post by RockerTed »

Went out last saturday after 40 miles just stopped, restarted stopped after half a mile wouldn't start, picked up by AA, still not starting, but turning over, fired up straight away next morning, checked obvious, changed CDI, fired up perfect after 8 miles stopped and then started straight away, don't want to use it incase its stops again, any suggestions what could be wrong?

it sounds like it could be fuel starvation. Check to see if there are any kinked hoses. Also, if you open the filler cap when it stops, do you get a whooshing noise. If so then its the fuel tank breather.
Too many bikes, so little time!

Check and re check the fuel pump.. the one on my NC29 had an intermittant fault resulting in the same symptoms as yours.. I got a new one (well very good second hand one) and she runs fine now..
