Electrical problem
hi,
my nc30 has not been charging, every morning its dead
i tested all wiring with multimeter and nearly everythin is a little above what is should be.
cleaned connections etc. now this morning it was still dead, so i tried to jump it with another bike and it wont start. it wont even hold power, its turns for a few seconds then dies as if it nit even connected to another battery, very odd as this always works. What could be the issue?

Possibly reg/rec had failed and cooked your battery
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Ive been told u can only test the reg/rec when the bike is running, is that true?

How do you know the battery is not being charged, what battery voltage do you measure when the engine is running?
Without the jump battery connected, measure the voltage at the bike fitted battery while pressing the start button, should be more than 12 volts with a charged battery. If voltage falls below 12 volts then battery is flat. Connect the jump battery and again measure the voltage at the bike fitted battery while pressing the start button, if voltage falls below 12 volts then the jump battery is flat or the jump leads are faulty.
If the bike fitted battery voltage remains above 12 volts and still no cranking, measure the voltage at the starter motor terminal while pressing the start button, should be same voltage as the battery (12 volts minimum).
Measurement results will help point in the direction of the fault.

got the bike started, when its running battery reads 14.2volts, when off 12.4volts.
Is it true that when ur alternator is stuffed it can make a buzzing noise and the bike will splutter and wont idle correctly?

12.4 volts when off is a flat battery but repeated attempts to start the engine and little actual running time will eventually flatten a good battery. Assume 14.2 volts was measured at idle rpm and head lights off then charging voltage system appears ok. What voltage to you get at 5000 rpm with the lights on high beam.
What did you do to get the bike started?
Where is the buzzing noise coming from. Poor idle and splutter is usually a carby problem.

just done the carbs, odd buzzing noise sounds like its comin from the lower left side of motor. i got it started by leavin it connected to another bike for 15min. another problem i have i think is related is the bike goes and then starts spluttering and making a horrible noise at7500rpm and struggles to go more, it sounds so rough im scared to push it higher

What battery voltage do you get at 5000 rpm with high beam lights ON?
You used a jump battery to get it started, did you leave it running to charge the battery fitted to your bike. As I said lots of starting and no running will result in a flat battery.
What type of horrible noise at 7500 rpm, coning from where?
Have you had the flywheel/alternator off for any reason.

havent tested it while running yet. that terrible sound is like a whining BRRRRRRRR (LOL) almost sounds like a restictor. went for a ride on highway now and at about 130km the bike started pulling like it should for awhile then started spluttering and makin that noise again. ive opened the left engine cover before, its the stator if im not mistaken?

Can only suggest you check that the stator and flywheel are screwed down tight. There is no key to help lock the flywheel in place so if the retaining bolt is loose or the taper damaged the flywheel can slip.
