Re: nc30 looms & CDI`s
They are all the bets of friends and you'll have no problems using any NC30 loom/CDI on any NC30
Though...other advice may be available, but I'd probably, on the balance of things, believe me.

Everyone has to start somewhere

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Re: nc30 looms & CDI`s
Actually there is one exception to this - UK looms and CDI's
the UK bike is not restricted, so using a jap spec CDI on a UK loom - should be ok, but not sure about the other way round.
anyway chances of stumbling across either are slim so i wouldn't worry

Re: nc30 looms & CDI`s
My CDI/ICU that died at oulton last month was a UK CDI/ICU, it only had 5 pins, but it ran a Jap 6 pin loom so it will be fine as well as mine ran fine.
Granted it did burn itself out but that was due to mysterious unrelated issues, and nothing to do with running a jap loom with UK CDI/ICU

Re: nc30 looms & CDI`s
I read your thread last night on your issues 28hodge , i was lost as soon as Magg started talking multimeters and ohms , electrical schematics are not my forte . Before i jump in and buy unnecessary/wrong items I`d sooner ask when in doubt . I hope you get to the bottom of it and I`ll be trying to get to Oulton at some point to meet you all as its not that far

Re: nc30 looms & CDI`s
Yeah I'm an electrical idiot, but that post with magg taught me plenty, and I'm a lot more comfortable with my electrical circuit now than I was, to the extent that I'm toying with the idea of making up my own loom, but as mine is a trackbike it's a he'll of a lot easier than a road bike.
I'm going back to oulton this Wednesday so hoping alls sorted and I have a better day, anything over half a lap will be progress from last time!!
Hope you get everything sorted on yours
