VFR400K cam question...

Post by harvey_s »

I have a VFR400K with what appears to be a worn inlet cam on two lobes at opposite ends and one pitted lobe on the exhaust cam (both rear head)- reading through some of the previous threads can I take it that any NC21 cams will fit, but not the NC24?

Has anyone else experienced similar wear issues on the rear head...?

Thanks for any input

Never seen any VFR400 with worn cams.

Aparantly with prolonged wheelies or seriosu neglect (think oil like treacle) they can suffer from oil starvation to the top end and melt the cams.

Chck for shit in the sump strainer (the sump will need to come off) that could be limiting oil flow.

Depends on which VFR400K you have as to which cam will be the correct one but it will probably run with any cam in there, just not as good as the exact match.
