Optimised - Not starting!
Hi All,
I had a little issue at the weekend. Nc30 is always connected to the Optimiser, when I came to start it up on Sunday, it sounded almost dead on trying to start!!
I noted that the Optimiser stated around 12.6v before I unplugged it, does that sound right?
I then plugged it in and left it for 30 minutes or so and tried again, it charged it upto 13.2v and when I tried again it fired up first time!
Very annoying...

Re: Optimised - Not starting!
13.2 will be what's known as surface charge.. a little residual charge that'll drop back after a while.
Depending on the type of battey 12.6 should be fully charged...
MCN have a good Battery article that has some handy charts for battery charge voltages and other issues.
I've found that my NC24 can be left for at least 3 weeks and it'll still start (without being connected to any charger)
Could be a sign of the battery on its way out? If you leave it off the charger for a couple of days after optimising it, will it start the bike?

I'll try that, thanks. If it's a non-starter I'll another battery. It's been in there less than a year as I had the Reg/rec go and replaced both then.
It's just that when it's done charging it says the battery is fine and 'stong', it just sounds completely different when starting with an extra .7v!!
