NC30 Rear caliper swap
My one doesn't look like it's worth the cost to repair, so I'd rather swap it for a working rear caliper. I've checked the RVF400 rear caliper out, but the mount and design doesn't look like they are interchangeable (unless they are and I've missed something?)
Is there a rear caliper from another Honda bike that will swap with the VFR400 NC30 rear caliper?
And if someone has a working rear caliper for sale and willing to ship to AUS, shoot us a PM.
Thanks

What exactly is wrong with your current caliper?

99.9% certain 30 and 35 rear calipers are the same. Theres not much that can go wrong with then to be fair, a new set of pistons and seals will cost around the same as a 2nd hand caliper and chances are that wont have new seals or pistons.

I'm sure it's the same too. Anyway, as DM suggests, buying a 'new' one is uneconomical unless you find a bargain. There's a single example on eBay in the UK now, and it's £50. For that, you could buy genuine seals from DSS (06451-GE2-405 approx £12 for two sets), and aftermarket pistons (45107-MN5-006P, £36 for two). If you trust eBay sources, you could get a kit of two aftermarket pistons and their seals for £37, which would leave a surplus on the complete caliper cost that would give you a budget to replace the various pins and boots for the pads and sliding part of the caliper if required.

I'm sure the 600 Hornet pre-2003 uses the same caliper. It is a sliding piston type isn't it? Or am I thinking 21/24?
I'm sure I still have one in the workshop, I'll check tomorrow afternoon when I'm back home.

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.
