Carb Rubbers.
Have a new set of carb rubbers and just wondering is there a difference between front and back rubbers? First time i have put the carbs back on. Had to walk away from it last night.

Re: Carb Rubbers.
Are they NC30 or NC35 rubbers?

Re: Carb Rubbers.
NC30 is the same rubber on all four. NC35 has different rubbers for cyls 1+4 and 2+3.
Put my NC35 carbs back on on Saturday. I have to say I was surprised. After all the horror stories, I found the existing rubbers felt pretty flexible, so rather than break out the new set I bought, a smeared a tiny amount of engine oil inside the them, and had a go. Remarkably, they went on with no fuss and bother, just a good shove.
Walking away is a good idea. I did that last week when I ran out of time and was getting fed up. This Saturday I got everything measured and the bike back in one piece pretty easily. Save for the throttle cable snapping afterwards... lol A new day and a clear head are the best tools in the box, IMHO.

Re: Carb Rubbers.
Found the best method from somebody on here is to get the front two in first then seat the rears with careful use of a small screwdriver around the rubbers whilst pressing down on the carbs. Works well only took 5 minutes to get them on.
The first time I spent hours with bits of wood cursing etc... The above method works well for me.

Re: Carb Rubbers.
Pretty much what I did. I was expecting torture, and to need to use the new rubbers that I'd bought. After a little firm pressing on the fronts, they'd slid most of the way in, so I turned to the rears, and somewhat incredibly, without needing a flat screwdriver, there was suddenly a satisfying feeling when the rears slipped straight into place. I have a good shove on all the corners, and with a torch I was able to see they'd all gone right down as fas as possible. Beginner's luck, perhaps!

Re: Carb Rubbers.
Must have been too late last night. Carbs went in handy enough with a smear of oil and a little coax with the screwdriver. Cheers.

Re: Carb Rubbers.
hi, my carb rubbers split so i decided to go buy new ones from a shop. The ones i got are different, they have a lip on the top, obviously to help slide them in. i also noticed the ones i had before were labelled MLO and these are MR8, whichvis the code for NC30. Are the one i previously had not the correct ones for an NC30?

Re: Carb Rubbers.
ML0 is the middle part of the part number for NC30 rubbers, according to the fiche. MR8 appears on the NC35 ones. Lots of bits on both bikes are ML0 and MR8 (and many others). A lot of people say you can use NC35 rubbers on an NC30, although the NC35 has two types. One is slightly longer than the other, I think. At least, they have different part numbers and are a different price, so you'd think they were different!

Re: Carb Rubbers.
whatever they are, they unbelievable. normally with a friend i struggle to get carbs seated properly. today on my own i literally took 2min. just pushed the front in slightly, gave it a push and all 4 popped right in. I recommend everybody gets these and discards the MLO
