NC29 cbr600 shock where to mount gas canister?
Got the shock ready to be fitted and was wondering where to mount the gas preload adjuster? Is drilling and tapping the swing arm a silly idea? It's on one of those flexy cable things :) any advice welcome :D

Exhaust bracket, secured with decent cable ties.

I managed to get mine in the storage bit, under the rear seat. Keeps it clean and not exposed to the elements.

so, is drilling and tapping my swingarm and making a bracket for it a bad idea?

Unsure what you mean by this as the swingarm flexes up and down and could catch the hose to the gas canister on another part of the bike and damage the hose/canister or punt you off down the road.
You could ruin a perfectly good looking swingarm, ive done it like this, its safe and secure and easily accessible although the rear pillion pegs can be a pain to use if needed.

You've obviously got the longer hose shocker. I got the shorter hose model and managed to remove the little bracket under the seat/tank that holds a couple of wiring connectors. I just cut it off, but kept the part that holds the front screws for the sidepanels. Then I managed to mount it longitudally along the frame.cbr400rrn wrote:Unsure what you mean by this as the swingarm flexes up and down and could catch the hose to the gas canister on another part of the bike and damage the hose/canister or punt you off down the road.

I'll try to get a pic

BTW longer hose variant is the better bet , but I got a really good condition shock so it was worth the hassle, alterring the pivot linkage to get the right ride height was the tricky bit

I just cut down an old exhaust hanger and bolted it on with a longer bolt at the chain guard mount. Worked fine for me
