Aftermarket relay mod

Hi, ive put an aftermarket kit on my japspec NC30, incl. new stronger lights.
The low beams work fine but when i switch on hi beam both light go out.
do i need a relay mod? if yes does someone know if theres a thread on here regarding one?

You'll need a relay to prevent the switch being damaged, but simply changing the lamps shouldn't cause the high beam to not come on. The usual fault if the switch is damaged is that low beam doesn't work. The high beam has a relay on both the JDM and export versions, and it sounds like maybe there's a problem with it. Did you get high beam with the old ones, and what happens if you put them back in?

the switch was fine before i changed the lights, they r stronger lights which is why i thought it would need a relay. ive swopped the relay with a new one and its the same problem.
could it be the globes are faulty? i dont have my old lights anymore
