Hi all have spent the day fitting the loom, engine ect to the frame has anyone started an engine with no exhaust at all on it? Have had the engine cranking, spark and fuel but will not catch, any ideas

It won't be easy to get running because there will be no back pressure.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Yeah thought so, cheers will be ages before up and running properly. Waiting for carb bits from speedy then will get the parts upto you cheers thunderace

i ran the nc30 by accident a few years back id forgot to hit the kill switch before turning over 6 inch blue flames shot out the heads it ran for 10seconds and sounded like id had a machine gun on the go.

Never really heard this engine run, great compression, done all valve clearances,new plugs and a good spark. Trying to run on easy start!!! But when warmer will swap carbs from my running bike and get her firing hopefully?????

Sounds like a moto gp bike with no silencer on. Very loud!

If you have no pipes on at all, you can apparently scorch the valves.

I cant imagine anybody running and nc30 with no pipe on long enough to scorth the valves! It should run tho, i've run an engine quick with no carb or pipe and just a few drops of petrol down the intake port!
Crazy loud tho!

please put at least some pipes without end-can on..
