Thanks but can't see any info to answer my question. The guy at Kais(Who are quite well known suspension specialists) said it was quit loose on one end of the shock as it was a different diameter. Just wondering if everyone else who has changed the spring is riding round with something that may become an issue.

On the link to the other post it looks as though he has the same spring as the one I bought. Anyhow I'm sure it'll be ok when I get it back.

Hmmm, i've just received my Faulkner spring today and was planning to take it to be swapped over tomorrow by the local garage- this is the first i've heard of a tapered spring/shim being needed.

Bit worried now. You got any pictures of the shim thats required so I can get something made up before getting the spring swapped?
It don't matter if i'm fixin' it or ridin' it.

Ive taken some measurements and from what i can see around half of the surface area of the top of the spring will be resting on the top sag adjuster ring. Is this enough for it to be safe?

mine was a loose fit, but id not worry about it, this is the only spring thats available so dig it.

youd be looking at quite a bit of a bill to make custom springs cups,
