Re: NC30 Values.
My point, which I did not express well, is that there are collectors and riders. Collectors will inflate prices of very good examples. Riders buy the vast majority of these bikes though, and I'm pretty certain most are very price sensitive. I think if they could get a more modern bike with all the attributes and less hassle for a similar price, then a good number would. So there has to be a ceiling in the price of our well used and loved examples. Ok, I picked the Daytona because I see it as the same genre, pick whatever you think fits.
Just don't think your well worn example is ever going to fetch a huge price cos it won't !

Chrit, so going from a value like that what would a nut and bolt rebuild UK and jap nc be worth?

Re: NC30 Values.
Lol no i dont think so - i think they caught the bidder and he is locked up safe and sound again.
Seriously i love a NC as much as the next man - maybe more but 18k+ for a NC30 even to me is 10k too much,
these people can vote too - that's worrying.

Re: NC30 Values.
albeit a UK one, I prefer the earlier colours. Of course I am old enough to remember them coming out too, don't have to look in back issues of PB, tho I still have them in the loft. I suppose I would have paid 5k, but I like to ride my bikes and I couldn't buy that and keep it with 1.5miles on the clock!

I remember them too, a local dealer sold a few slowly and I met a complete stranger outside the shop in 1991 with a new UK NC30 not even fully run in.philfingers wrote:albeit a UK one, I prefer the earlier colours. He let me ride it and I was so amazed, that I was ready to buy one, until a friend pointed out that a second hand [1988/9] RC30 was £6,500 against the new NC at £6,000, and no second hand UK NCs were about at the time.
I ended up buying a new RC and a secondhand one to modify, but that is another story.
I would not pay sky high prices for "mint" old bikes as I would not want to ride them.

Re: NC30 Values.
With all things in life that are offered for sale there is a asking price and there is what someone is willing to pay for it, Its a good thing the NC30 is going up in value especially if you own one, lets face it they are nice and you can not buy a new one.
Buyers set the selling price not the sellers.
All the best everyone.

Re: NC30 Values.
Crikey - I've just seen the eBay listing you chaps are talking about and got all excited about my uk NC30 I'm currently working on getting back to mint condition as it's only got 5,200 miles so that's gotta be worth £15k for sure
Seriously though I agree with you fellas that you can ask the earth for stuff but at the end of the day it's only worth as much as someone is willing to pay - but if anyone wants to buy my NC for £15 grand I'm all ears lol!!
Cheers
Carl

Re: NC30 Values.
I know where theres a 2000 mile RC30 thats in clean original factory condition that you can buy for less than 18,000.
Given the choice between the two id much rather have the RC30.
