What Year Is it ???

Post by Glover400 »

This might sound :stupid: but my bikes a Qplate....the log book says 1993

To the best of my ability i have used google to figure out the year from my VINnumber and engine number. Both of which are telling me its a 2001 :|

The reason i wanted to double check the year is because my bike has 'aisan' carbs fitted to it...... They are like twin dual port carburrators. I though it would of had 4single carbs???

Can anybody shed some light on this for me? Thanks :peace:

Thats what i was worried about  Qplates!! haha

from what i have seen these carbs are the norm on an 87?? im not 100%

but they wouldn't fit on any other engine.. ie a newer one, would they?

could any body double check my vin an engine numbers or guide me to the correct formula for figuring them out properly

Stick up a pic and I'm sure we can easily tell you what model it is. Sounds like a GK71 with those carbs which would make it pre 1988.

According to my database, those numbers say early 1985 :peace:
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.
