i trusted ebay last time but the part didnt work, i have tested the fan and that works so it is the thermo switch that has gone at my guess

37760-MT2-003, supercedes the original part which was 37760-ML7-000 if I've got the right diagram. Note that the direct link to the part does NOT always show the diagram for the bike it comes from, certainly in this case!

NC35 part listed as the same, if that helps.
Not cheap!!

How did you test the fan?lukiooo wrote:hi

The easiest test for the switch is to take the wire from thermo switch and connect it to ground, if the fan comes on then it is likely the switch is buggard.
How high do you let the temperature gauage get to before assuming the switch is knackered?

Ah, that;s good to know, I thought that was the test for a fan, but was afraid to add it to my list of stupid questions! Not sure mine is happy and I didn't hear it going when I nearly roasted the bike when testing the reg/rec and battery!

Re: help finding parts nc21
thanks for the websites i know what you mean about the price of them so expensive for such a small part, i tested the fan by doing that way of earthing the fan to the frame with the ignition on and it span up

Re: help finding parts nc21
Maybe... go to cms's website and look!
It's probably a fairly generic part, but you never know.

Re: help finding parts nc21
well i went on david silver spares and copy and pasted the part number into google, i presume the part number is generic throughout?
this is article on david silver
http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/VFR4 ... rt_150639/
this is what googling the part number gave me
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Radiator-Thermo ... B008GS5E36
should this be ok?

Re: help finding parts nc21
Part number matches, and at £30.70 it's rather cheaper than the one from DSS at £58.80 including VAT.... BUT... Spares Unlimited are a breaker, the condition of this part isn't specified, so I would reckon that at half price and stating it's OE rather than pattern would indicate it's used. So, I'd ask the seller before buying. Entirely up to you if you are happy with a secondhand part if it turns out to be so.

Nobody has said why they think its dead yet.
How hot did you let the bike get before deciding it was dead?
