GK73a Thermostat replacement

Post by Awynn »

Does anyone know which other bike/s thermostat would be a direct replacement for the 73 and also what the original temp. rating would be? (Jap manual has two temps indicated, 76.5c and 90c. I am guessing maybe thermostat opens at 76.5 and fan kicks in at 90c??)
I am looking to fit a higher temp. thermostat as the bike runs rather cold especially at this time of year! (often not even making it out of the very bottom of the scale while moving! but soon rises when stationary. Carb o-rings have been done btw) Even at very low temp the rad starts to feel warm to the touch, I suspected a faulty stat in the past but I had it out and it seemed to open and close at about the marked temp (which was some time ago so don't remember marked temp. rating?)
Anyone happen to know what I need?

Its a well documented problem.
Suzuki fitted low temp thermostats that do not help with idle fuelling.
Fit a cbr 600 f3 one!!
